The aftermath of a teen party at Club Fathom downtown has left nine people shot and suffering from various injuries, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.
The most seriously injured was a 17-year-old youth who was hit in the pelvis and immediately taken to a local hospital to undergo surgery, CPD spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said in a news release.
Police responded to 400 Cherry St. about midnight Saturday after receiving calls that several people had been shot. Weary said an off-duty policeman who was working an extra job at Club Fathom, where a Christmas party for teens was being held, reported he had fired at a suspect whom he said had pointed a gun at him during the shootings. The officer was not hit during the incident.
