Hundreds of people were injured on Wednesday as Egyptian police clashed with anti-government protesters in Cairo’s central Tahrir Square, al Jazeera TV reported.
Tahrir Square was the focus of February’s uprising that forced President Hosni Mubarak from power.
The fresh protests, which started late on Tuesday when police cleared a sit-in at the state TV building by families of those killed in the February events, are calling on the ruling military council to expedite the prosecution of former officials and speed up reform.
