A video of Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing is going viral after a Twitter user asked who the woman sitting behind Kavanaugh was and why she made “the white power sign” with her hand.
Who is she? What’s up with the white power sign? @MSNBC pic.twitter.com/VUU9QsFdXW

The woman has been identified as Zina Bash, a senior counsel to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and member of Kavanaugh’s confirmation team.
Bash, named one of the most beautiful people in D.C., also worked for the Trump administration as a “Special Assistant to the President for regulatory reform, legal and immigration policy.”
Unhinged liberals turned Bash into an online sensation over her alleged “white power” hand symbol and overall demeanor throughout the hearing.

So #ZinaBash makes a clear white power sign sitting behind Judge Kavanaugh. There is no clearer example of what @realDonaldTrump is doing. His admin is in bed with white nationalists. How many folks in his administration has been fired when their real thoughts were revealed?

Kavanaugh’s assistant Zina Bash giving the white power sign right behind him during the hearing? This alone should be disqualify!!! pic.twitter.com/ZzXVqgTXhC— Amy Siskind (@Amy_Siskind) September 4, 2018
Like everyone else, I noticed the smirking woman behind Kavanaugh because I found her demeanor inappropriate and saw as everyone did that she rather than McGahn was in that seat as part of a cynical political calculation. But then someone sent me this, and now I’m speechless: pic.twitter.com/qVFr5whVRL

Daughter of immigrants or not, that behavior is unprofessional at best, and should be grounds for firing. This is not a playground.

The “OK” sign’s fictional ties to white supremacy originated on the imageboard 4chan, where users intended to troll liberals into thinking it’s racist — and it worked!
Even the PC police at the Anti-Defamation League admit the sign is not a symbol of white power and that the hoax was created by 4chan.
Those who came to Bash’s defense noted her Mexican/Jewish heritage as well as the fact her grandparents narrowly escaped a Nazi death camp.
This is Zina Gelman Bash, a White House lawyer and the granddaughter of Polish Jews who just barely escaped the death camps. Take a bow. https://t.co/MpN6TT3f2Z

Oh and her mother is Mexican-American. Really hit the bullseye with this one.

This tweet is so incredibly stupid that it’s hard to define with standard definitions of stupidity. We need new ways to define stupidity to describe this abomination of a tweet.
Zina Bash is the granddaughter of Polish Jews who just barely escaped the death camps. H/T @lachlan https://t.co/8hAnHjUYZp— Dan Bongino (@dbongino) September 4, 2018
Zina Bash is Mexican-American and Jewish by birth. This is looney-tunes. https://t.co/FNEYTiRKmV

Bash’s husband, U.S. attorney John Bash, stood up for his wife, saying, “The attacks today on my wife are repulsive. Everyone tweeting this vicious conspiracy theory should be ashamed of themselves.”
The attacks today on my wife are repulsive. Everyone tweeting this vicious conspiracy theory should be ashamed of themselves. We weren’t even familiar with the hateful symbol being attributed to her for the random way she rested her hand during a long hearing. 1/3

Zina is Mexican on her mother’s side and Jewish on her father’s side. She was born in Mexico. Her grandparents were Holocaust survivors. We of course have nothing to do with hate groups, which aim to terrorize and demean other people — never have and never would. 2/3

Some of the Twitter comments have even referred to our baby daughter. I know that there are good folks on both sides of the political divide. I hope that people will clearly condemn this idiotic and sickening accusation. 3/3
