A new handgun ammunition law set to take effect next month has been brought to a halt, after a judge ruled key sections of the law were unconstitutional.
The law would have required customers to purchase ammunition in person. Customers would have had to provide their thumb prints and identification, also. This, in wake of the recent Tuscon, Arizona shootings that left six people dead, more than a dozen wounded and Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords fighting for her life. Shooting suspect Jared Loughner legally purchased ammunition the morning he opened fire at Giffords district meet and greet, Outside a Safeway grocery store.
