Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy grilled Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein Wednesday during a House Judiciary hearing about the Robert Mueller Russia investigation.

“When I go home to South Carolina this weekend trust me when I tell you no one is going to ask me about any of those issues, they’re gonna ask me what in the hell is going on with the Department of Justice and the FBI,” the congressman decried.

Gowdy pointed out, “The reason we have special counsel is because of a conflict of interest. We don’t like conflicts of interest because it undermines people’s confidence in both the process and the result.”

“And then, lo and behold, those that are supposed to make sure there are no conflicts of interest seem to have a bit of their own,” he continued.

Gowdy brought up the fact that two FBI investigators working on Mueller’s counsel were caught texting each other anti-Trump messages and revealed a plot to start a probe into “Russian collusion” in the event of a Donald Trump victory in the 2016 election.

Another conflict of interest Gowdy pointed out was senior Justice Department official Bruce G. Ohr’s wife being on the payroll of Fusion GPS, the agency behind the Russian dossier paid for by the Clinton campaign and DNC.

The South Carolina congressman also mentioned a prosecutor involved in the investigation who sent a “fawning” email to a fact witness and another prosecutor who attended Hillary Clinton’s election party.

The blatant display of anti-Trump sentiment among Mueller’s counsel is concerning to say the least.
