Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Wednesday slammed a bipartisan push to block a military arms sale to Saudi Arabia, calling the idea “ass-backwards.” 

“I think it would be pretty odd for members on the other side of the aisle who almost unanimously supported the Iranian nuclear agreement … [to] deny a weapons sale to somebody who is in the fight with you,” Graham said from the Senate floor.

“You’re talking about ass-backwards.”

The Senate is expected to vote Wednesday afternoon on a resolution of disapproval that would block a $1.15 billion sale of tanks and related military equipment.
