The Donald Trump campaign is striking back at a comment made by opponent Hillary Clinton Friday, in which she categorized half of the businessman’s supporters as a “basket of deplorables.”
“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?” Hillary said at a fundraiser in Manhattan. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”
Trump took to Twitter over the weekend to express his dismay over Clinton’s overgeneralization, and equated the remark to Mitt Romney’s “47%” error, which many blame for his losing the presidential race in 2012.
While Hillary said horrible things about my supporters, and while many of her supporters will never vote for me, I still respect them all!

Hillary Clinton just had her 47% moment. What a terrible thing she said about so many great Americans!
