French politicians are to decide whether to extend a state of emergency for a fourth time after last week’s massacre in Nice.
President Francois Hollande was due to lift the emergency measures, which have been in place since the attacks on Paris last November, later this month but has instead extended them for another three months.
Emotions are running high in France after the country’s third major attack in 18 months and the government stands accused of not doing enough to safeguard its citizens.
French sources say parliament is expected to extend the state of emergency into early 2017.
