Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) claimed Tuesday on Fox Business that Hillary Clinton never lied to Congress about her private email server, saying there was a “difference of opinion” on the matter.
Schultz, while giving her talking points that federal investigations revealed Clinton had done nothing wrong with the 2012 Benghazi attacks, was cut short by host Maria Bartiromo, who cited FBI Director James Comey’s report on the Clinton email investigation. Comey recommended no charges be brought against Clinton, but his words showed that Clinton gave false information about several facets of her private server.
“Now, the trustworthiness obviously has been an issue for Hillary Clinton,” Bartiromo said. “She did lie to Congress when she said that she sent all the emails. We know that 30,000 emails—Jim Comey told us that she in fact lied to Congress, so that’s one issue.”
