An exasperated panel on MSNBC’s Morning Joe slammed Hillary Clinton Friday, wondering out loud why none of her aides have advised her to stop telling lies regarding the email scandal.
The discussion came on the heels of the release of an Inspector-General report this week that revealed Hillary never sought permission to have a private email server, despite claiming repeatedly that the State department had knowledge of her use of a private server, and that it granted her permission to do so.
On Thursday Hillary again repeated the claim, even AFTER the report noted it is not true.
“It’s been clearly public and my email use was widely known in the department throughout the government and I have provided all of my work-related emails and I’ve asked they be made public. And I think that demonstrates that I wanted to make sure that this information was part of the official records.” Hillary said.
The IG report also revealed that Hillary did not hand over all her emails, as she has also claimed over and over again.
“That was mind-boggling,” anchor Joe Scarborough said after the footage of Hillary ended.
“The number of false statements contained within that,” Scarborough added. “I mean, I don’t want to be, like, negative, I really don’t, but that was just mind-boggling. Does she not have anybody around her that can tell her … that we have to stop lying about this? Because everything she said in there was just a lie. I mean, it was allowed by the State Department. No, it was not allowed by the State Department.”
Co-host Mika Brzezinski pointed out that the entire news cycle about the IG report has been focused on the fact that Hillary’s claims have been contradicted, yet she has just repeated the same lies AGAIN.
“Everybody knew in the State Department we were doing it,”Scarborough continued “No. They said we didn’t know, but if we did know we wouldn’t allow her to do it. She goes on and on. She sent out directives in 2011 saying, ‘Don’t do it the way I’m doing it,’ basically. In 2009, there was a federal regulation as far as record-keeping goes, passed across the entire government.”
“I don’t understand. It just doesn’t—it doesn’t help her honesty and trustworthy. She’s just not telling the truth. and her own State Department said, ‘You’re not telling the truth.’ It would be better for her politically to say I screwed up and I’m really sorry. Why can’t they do it?” a bewildered Scarborough urged.
The rest of the panel speculated that Hillary is simply surrounded by aides who never question her and believe everything she says and does is true and right, describing it as “bunker mentality.”
Scarborough also called Hillary’s attempts to suggest Colin Powell did the same thing as her a “sad” and “pathetic” excuse.
Hillary’s critics and rivals have seized on the IG report. Donald Trump tweeted that the report shows once again that Hillary has “bad judgment and temperament,” with the RNC also releasing an ad titled “Crooked Hillary gets caught lying again.”
The Inspector General's report on Crooked Hillary Clinton is a disaster. Such bad judgement and temperament cannot be allowed in the W.H.
