All of Pennsylvania’s largest cities have higher levels of lead exposure than Flint, Michigan, but you won’t hear Michael Moore calling for the prosecution of Governor Tom Wolf.

There is a reason for that.

Wolf is a Democrat.

Moore’s jihad against Michigan Republican governor Rick Snyder is politically motivated. Moore has used it not only to claim a Republican is poisoning the poor people of Flint, but he has also climbed up on his soap box and taken aim at General Motors and the Pentagon.

Now that he is dominating headlines, Moore has expanded his target list to include the wife of the Governor’s Chief of Staff. Deb Muchmore is a spokesperson for Nestle, the largest owner of private water sources in the State of Michigan.

Democrats are also in bed with corporations, but this does not figure into Moore’s political agenda. He has opportunistically limited his criticism to Flint’s water crisis and Republicans on its periphery.

Moore has failed to place the blame where it belongs. Flint’s liberal Democrat government ruined the city through high taxation and inept municipal services. Flint subsequently went bankrupt and was placed in receivership and as a result the state government appointed an emergency financial manager.

“Before the appointment of the (Democratic) emergency manager, Flint’s elected mayor and city council (Democrats) had decided to sever the city’s relationship with its drinking-water supplier, which was at the time the Detroit water authority,” explains the National Review. “Flint intended to join a regional water authority that would pipe water in from Lake Huron, a project that was scheduled to take three years to come online. In a fit of pique, Detroit (a city under unitary Democratic control) immediately moved to terminate Flint’s water supply, leaving the city high and literally dry.”

That’s when the city decided to use water from the Flint River temporarily. Darnell Earley, the Democrat who served as emergency manager, said the decision to stop using Detroit’s water and rely on the river “were both a part of a long-term plan that was approved by Flint’s mayor, and confirmed by a City Council vote of 7–1 in March of 2013 — a full seven months before I began my term as emergency manager.”

Obama’s EPA knew how dangerous the water from the Flint River was, but did nothing.

“EPA official Susan Hedman did not publicize the EPA’s concern over Flint’s water quality or the water’s dangerous health concerns. The federal agency instead quietly fought with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for at least six months about what should be done,” writes The Daily Caller.

Moore ignores all of this and targets Republicans, corporations and the Pentagon. He has said little to nothing about the role Democrats played in the fiasco.

The National Review sums up:

The Democratic government of a Democratic city destroys that city’s finances so thoroughly that it must go into state receivership; a Democratic emergency manager signs off on a consensus plan to use a temporary water source; the municipal authorities in that Democratic city responsible for treating and monitoring drinking water fail to do their job; a state agency whose employees work under the tender attention of SEIU Local 517 fails to do its job overseeing the local authorities; Barack Obama’s EPA, having been informed about the issue, keeps mum.

Result: a Republican gets the blame.

Obviously the entire political system—from career bureaucrats in the city of Flint, up through the state government and its environmental agency to the EPA—should be blamed for this crisis, not merely a Republican governor.

This, however, does not play well with Moore or his comrades. Instead of concentrating on the criminal behavior of government regardless of political affiliation, Moore has exploited the people of Flint to push his progressive Democrat message.

If Moore were truly unbiased and sincerely concerned about how a crony capitalist government in league with monopoly corporations poison citizens, he would move on to Pennsylvania where citizens are subjected to even higher levels of toxicity.
