On Monday, North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory appeared on Fox News to discuss, among other topics, sanctuary cities and Syrian refugees.

While speaking with Bill O’Reilly about how refugees are brought into the state, Gov. McCrory revealed yet another disturbing lack of transparency and disregard for the security and comfort of Americans on the part of the Obama administration:

We’re not even told by the President, I think the most misinformation is that the federal government and homeland security and the president tell each governor when these Syrian refugees come to our state. We have no communication whatsoever on when they come, where they go, who they are.

And that’s what our major objection is. Our local homeland security people, who are the ones that have to respond to any emergency, are not in the communication loop with the the President of the United States.

That is truly remarkably bad news. That the states – law enforcement, security, first responders – have no idea when the feds are going to sneak into their states what we now know for a fact are poorly vetted, poorly screened Syrian refugees, is offensive to the very idea of statehood, to the principles of federalism, and to the honest-to-goodness common sense of anyone with a functioning brain.

But hey, as long as Obama can go on TV in Paris and Indonesia and talk about how liberal and tolerant he is, that’s what matters, right? Not a bunch of cowardly American racists afraid of widows and orphans. Right, Americans? Right Democrats? You’re fine with that, yes?
