Londoners are standing together on social media with a hashtag – #YouAin’tNoMuslimBruv offering a very British response to the ‘terrorist’ slashing attack in Leytonstone.
The phrase – yelled by a bystander as the attacker was tasered by police – has even found its way onto TFL noticeboards in the wake of the attack.
Video recorded during the attack shows commuters shouting at the attacker, with one man shouting, ‘You ain’t no Muslim, bruv! You ain’t no Muslim!’
The religion of the attacker is still unknown, as are his motives, although he shouted, ‘This is forSyria,’ and ‘All your blood will be spilled,’ during the assault.
