“No justice, no peace,” declared Rev. Jamal Bryant at the end of his eulogy for Freddie Gray, a statement which won’t ease tensions as violent protests rock Baltimore, Md.

Thousands attended Monday’s service for Gray, the 25-years-old who died April 19 after Baltimore police broke his neck, severed his spine, bruised his brain, snapped his leg and crushed his larynx.
“Aside from what was a obviously brutal attack, the fact that medical professionals and an ambulance were not immediately called to the scene is criminal in itself,” Steve Watson reported. “The police report states that the arrest took place at 8:54am, but an ambulance was not called to the Western District police station until half an hour later at 9:24am.”
In response, rioters destroyed local businesses, vandalized parked cars and attacked innocent bystanders, behavior which won’t solve anything.
Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake admitted that city officials and police gave rioters “space to destroy” private property.
“While we tried to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on,” she said at a press conference on Saturday. “We also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well.”
