Christopher Lee Cornell, a 20-year old man from Green Township, Ohio, was arrested Wednesday after he told an FBI informant he wanted to target U.S. lawmakers.

Lee, who also went by the name Raheel Mahrus Ubaydah on Twitter, claimed he was an active member of the Islamic State, according to the federal government.
In October, the FBI arranged for an informant to contact Lee in Cincinnati and discuss plans for the attacks, said FBI Special Agent T.A. Staderman.
Lee told the FBI informant he needed weapons and showed the source he had “jihadist videos and information about constructing bombs,” Staderman said.
He was arrested after buying two semiautomatic rifles and 600 rounds of ammunition.
The timing of the arrest and alleged plot coincides with an ISIS video message released last weekend calling for followers to “rise up” and kill police, soldiers, intelligence officers and civilians.
The FBI issued a bulletin for all law enforcement agencies to be on alert after the video surfaced in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris last week.
FBI Notorious for Organizing Terror Plots
The FBI employs around 15,000 undercover agents today, more than ten times the number they used in the 1970s during the heyday of COINTELRPO, the operation designed to neutralize political targets.
In 2011, a report issued by Mother Jones and the Investigative Reporting Program at the University of California-Berkley revealed that the FBI organizes nearly all terror plots in the United States.
FBI agents and operatives “find suspects that could potentially carry out ‘lone wolf’ attacks and then, more or less, encourage them to do so,” RT reported. “By providing weaponry, funds and a plan, FBI-directed agents will encourage otherwise-unwilling participants to plot out terrorist attacks, only to bust them before any events fully materialize.”
