A teacher who forced an eight-year old student to unclog a toilet with his bare hands will remain employed despite a history of inappropriate behavior with children.

Brent Taylor, teacher at Scootney Springs Elementary in Othello, Washington, admitted to making his student put his hands inside the toilet after the third grader alerted his parents to the incident.

Artie Adams, father of the young boy, says he learned of the matter after asking his son how school went that day.

“He said everything was good, but my teacher made me put my hand inside the toilet,” Artie explained to KEPRTV. “We were like, ‘What?!'”

Artie’s wife, Lisa, was equally shocked at the news.

“I’m still speechless,” Lisa said.

According to reports, the third grader had reported the clogged toilet to his teacher before being asked to unclog it without gloves or a plunger.

“It’s nothing I haven’t done before,” Taylor reportedly told his student.

Lisa says her son was not only forced to engage in the unsanitary act, but forced to do it in front of fellow students as well.

The incident was so traumatic for the young boy that Artie and Lisa have since transferred him to a new school.

“He did get made fun of, kids did see this happen, and he’s not going to go to that school,” Lisa said.

Despite Taylor admitting to the cruel and disgusting episode, the 23 year teaching veteran only received a warning letter for his behavior.

Taylor was also asked to complete a safety hygiene class, a course which he had already taken two months prior.

Further investigation by KEPRTV revealed a consistent theme among Taylor’s teaching record.

But, in our investigation into Taylor’s record, we found Taylor has had two other reprimands in the last 16 months.

The other two involved inappropriately touching female high school students. Records show Taylor was put on leave last year after a teacher’s aide reported he roughly grabbed her arm in anger.

And earlier this school year another TA reported feeling uncomfortable when she said Taylor tickled the back of her neck.

Both Othello Superintendent George Juarez and Taylor’s union refused any significant comment, choosing to support Taylor once again.

“…If he did it to our child, how many other kids has he done that to?” Artie said.

Local residents were equally outraged, noting the extreme health hazard posed by Taylor’s demand.

“If that little boy had any cuts or scrapes on his hands or wrists, he could catch any number of serious diseases,” a Keren Burdt said.

Another Othello resident even stated that she had complained about Taylor more than 15 years ago when she served as a teacher’s aide.

“I complained about him 15 years ago when my daughter had him for a teacher,” a Sharon Damon said. “I volunteered in his classroom and he used to tell me stories about his personal life that were of an inappropriate nature. I told the principal about it and she said she would have a talk with him. Well it looks like that didn’t do any good.”

As it currently stands, Taylor will continue teaching into the foreseeable future.
