As Obama read a gushing speech from his lectern, calling Eric Holder “America’s lawyer” and “The People’s lawyer”, critics of the outgoing Attorney General, spared no effort in slamming him as the most partisan man ever to hold the position, and the least faithful to the Constitution.
Former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew Napolitano blasted Holder, noting “Every time that Barack Obama has bent, broken, avoided or evaded the constitution or federal law, Eric Holder has been at his side, cheering him on, providing intellectual cover, and purporting to give the president legal advice authorizing what the President wanted to do.”
“From allowing the President to kill Americans, from allowing the President to spy on Americans, from personally authorizing the invasion of privacy of our colleague James Rosen, from seizing property from people who weren’t even charged with crimes .. Eric Holder has been behind all of it.” the libertarian analyst added.
“He has been the least faithful to the Constitution of any Attorney General, and he doesn’t regret It,” Napolitano urged.

Holder was at the centre of the Fast and Furious scandal, as well as the IRS targeting controversy. He was the first sitting cabinet official in history to be held in contempt of Congress, and Republican lawmakers clearly feel nothing but disdain for Holder, who consistently sought to overtly politicize the Department of Justice.
Eric Holder is the most divisive U.S. Attorney General in modern history.

By needlessly injecting politics into law enforcement, Holder's legacy has eroded more confidence in our legal system than any AG before him

AG #Holder has obfuscated the truth & been the most partisan, partial, prejudiced & self-pitying AG in my lifetime http://t.co/UTDGb2iBdw

Sadly, AG Holder has proven to be the most partisan AG in our history. It's good news he's announced his resignation: http://t.co/0dCdgwkUdN

In a statement, Judiciary Committee member Sen. John Cornyn of Texas said: “Unfortunately the American people, myself included, lost confidence in the Attorney General’s ability to lead a long time ago because of his continued willingness to put politics before the law.”
Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis added, “Eric Holder’s tenure has been marked by the politicization of justice, disrespect for the rule of law and Constitution, and suppression of the truth .. President Obama could hardly do worse when naming Holder’s successor.”
The general feeling among GOP lawmakers is ‘don’t let the door hit you in the behind on the way out’:
Good riddance Eric Holder. Your disregard for the Constitution of the United States will not be missed.

Holder's tenure will be remembered for refusal to uphold law & Constitution, disrespect for role of Congress & contempt for the institution

Before AG Holder steps down, he should clear his desk of everything he still owes #Congress under subpoena. http://t.co/G2G8y357Sb

Not sorry to see #EricHolder go. Here's one of several times he just wouldn't cooperate: https://t.co/6q7V0Lh3Fe

With Holder resigning, my hope is for an Attorney General who respects the rule of law instead of trying to find ways around it.

Now that Eric Holder is resigning, my hope is that the next Attorney General respects the rule of law.

Anyone sad to see Eric Holder stepping down as AG? Not me. I can’t think of any AG in history who has attacked Louisiana more than Holder.
— David Vitter (@DavidVitter) September 25, 2014
Of course, Holder’s exit means nothing if he is simply replaced by someone who will continue to use the AG position to legally justify the decimation of the Constitution. Only one prominent politican actually pointed this out…
Attorney Gen. Eric Holder's resignation does nothing to change the authoritarian political system. RT if you agree –> http://t.co/Bd8m0TJau4
