A San Diego, California television station questioned why police did not close down a demonstration on Tuesday as illegal immigrants traveled from South Texas to San Diego.
ABC News in San Diego characterized the protest as a “near riot” and characterized the demonstrators as racist.
CNN described the demonstration as a “wall of angry protesters.”
The protesters prevented three Homeland Security buses carrying immigrants who illegally entered the United States from proceeding to the Murrieta Border Patrol station where they were scheduled to be processed. The caravan was forced to turn around and go to the U.S. Border Patrol Station Chula Vista in San Diego County.
