The young people of Italy overwhelmingly backed parties critical of the European Union, open borders and the Euro single currency.
In Italy, 65% of young people aged 18-24 appear to be eurosceptic, with 39% voting for Five Star, 21% for the League, 4% for Casapound, and 1% for FdI. In contrast, in Britain only 24% of young people aged 18-24 voted for Brexit. pic.twitter.com/ytTkAx2el2

A YouTrend survey has highlighted how 65% of young people aged between 18 and 24 backed the likes of the Five Star Movement and the anti-Euro Lega.
The anti-establishment Five Star received the support of 39% of youngsters, Lega were backed by 21% of under 24s, 4% voted for the fascist Casa Pound and 1% opted for the nationalist Brothers of Italy.
Youth unemployment in Italy is around 30%, and there is clearly huge anger. As in Greece, being shackled to the Euro has hurt the prospects of many – and the result is a revolt of the young against Brussels.
