An idiotic Faux News anchor, Gregg Jarrett, claims an Iranian Shahab-3 missile can “easily” hit the United States. Neocon John Bolton, former U.N. ambassador, who should know better, does not refute this absurd claim. Of course, this is a natural, as the neocons are notorious for cooking up fantastic and murderous lies, for instance that Saddam Hussein was capable of hitting the United States with chemical weapons within 45 minutes, a lie still posted on a White House propaganda web page. Bush used this nonsense as part of his excuse to invade Iraq, reduce it to third world status, and kill over a million Iraqis.

Shahab missile
The Shahab-3 missile has a range of 2,100 kilometers and is not able to reach beyond the Middle East.

In fact, the Shahab-3 missile has a range of 2,100 kilometers and is not able to reach beyond the Middle East, as the illustration at right reveals. It is able to reach Israel and maybe this is what Jarrett meant when he said the Iranians are capable of hitting the United States. Considering the fact Israel receives billions of dollars every year from the government in Washington and politicians and wanna-be presidents trek there and before AIPAC and promise to protect the tiny country from evil Arabs and Muslims, it may as well be part of the United States.

The problem is not, for Israel and the United States, the Shahab’s range, but its survivability against ABM systems such as Israel’s Arrow-2, an “interceptor” missile system “co-funded” by the United States. In other words, the neocons are upset because Iran apparently has the ability to protect itself against an Israeli or U.S. attack, something both countries have promised to do repeatedly.
