A second sampling of mosquitoes in York County has tested positive for West Nile virus.

The Penn State Cooperative Extension in York County collected the sample on June 29 in York City.

There have been human cases of West Nile Virus in the county every year since 2002. Certain species of mosquitoes carry West Nile virus, which can cause West Nile encephalitis in humans, an inflammation of the brain.
