Environmentalists have opposed nuclear power as dangerous in the past, but they are now following Obama’s lead in favoring it over power sources that emit carbon dioxide.

That’s right, nuclear waste – that has to be safely stored for thousands of years and is some of the most toxic substances on Earth. Certainly less of a threat than carbon dioxide, which plants need and consume naturally.
