Hillary Clinton’s IT technician reportedly asked users on Reddit and other tech forums how to strip “VERY VIP” email addresses from a private email server, and his full name was linked to his username on a Betrayal at Krondor fan site.

The technician, Paul Combetta of Platte River Networks, had invoked his Fifth Amendment rights at a Sept. 13 House hearing on Clinton’s missing State Dept. emails.

“Hello all, I may be facing a very interesting situation where I need to strip out a VIP’s (VERY VIP) email address from a bunch of archived emails that I have both in a live Exchange mailbox, as well as a PST file,” he reportedly asked on Reddit under the username stonetear. “Basically, they don’t want the VIP’s email address exposed to anyone, and want to be able to either strip out or replace the email address in the to/from fields in all the emails we want to send out.”

His requests were made around the same time the State Dept. started requesting Hillary Clinton’s email records in the summer of 2014:

If the “archived emails” stonetear refers to are State Dept. emails, that is a clear violation of the Freedom of Information Act.

Combetta was apparently using the username stonetear as early as 2007 when asking for help on a Microsoft Exchange newsgroup.

And his full name was tied to the username when he hosted files related to the 1993 classic RPG Betrayal at Krondor:

“Combetta is one of two technicians who was granted immunity by the Justice Department in order to cooperate with the FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s server,” the Daily Caller reported.
