Super Bowl participants are usually reluctant to make bold predictions — unless it’s the law enforcement officers charged with protecting the game Sunday at Cowboys Stadium.

“We have planned extensively and we are prepared,” Arlington Police Chief Theron Bowman said Monday. “At the end of the day, we believe this will be the best and safest Super Bowl yet.”

Bowman was joined at Monday’s news conference at the Sheraton Dallas by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and other federal law enforcement officials.
