“Hillary for Prison” T-shirts are selling out at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, The Hill reports.
In an article entitled “‘Hillary for Prison’ T-shirt is best-seller in Cleveland,” journalist Peter Schroeder noted Wednesday how the meme has seemingly taken over the conservative event.
“The most reliable rallying cry for the first two days of the Republican National Convention has been demands from speakers that the Democratic front-runner be thrown behind bars,” he says.
The slogan, which has been growing in popularity for months since Infowars launched the best-selling T-shirt last year, was taken to the next level after Infowars launched an aerial banner featuring the catch phrase days before the convention.
Although the planes were eventually grounded due to the FAA no-fly zone mandate once the RNC began, Infowars took the message to the streets by using trucks instead.
The phrase has become so wide-spread, The Hill notes, that some senators have even begun denouncing it all together.
“Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), a frequent Trump critic who is not attending the convention, said he was fed up with that message on Tuesday evening,” the article states.
“@HillaryClinton now belongs in prison? C’mon,” Sen. Flake tweeted. “We can make the case that she shouldn’t be elected without jumping the shark.”
Although Infowars is not officially selling the shirt at the convention, major bulk-orders were made of the item prior to the event.
“We didn’t order enough,” one vendor said.
