For those of you eating grape tomatoes in packaged salads and veggie trays, beware! A Florida grower recently recalled its grape tomatoes after a sample tested positive for Salmonella.
While no one has been sickened (unlike 2008’s outbreak), the recalled grapes were used in products made by Taylor Farms Pacific for Albertsons, Raley’s, Safeway, Savemart, Sam’s Club and Walmart, in Arizona, Oregon, California, Nevada, Washington, New Mexico, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. If you think you might have a product with the recalled tomatoes, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say to return the recalled products to the place of purchase for a refund.
