Central Texas Republican conventions were expected to go off without much to-do, but ended up taking 12 hours to elect delegates and pass party platform resolutions in Travis county.

Delegate Tracy Groff says a group of Ron Paul supporters brought the SD 14 convention to a screeching halt by challenging the selection of delegates headed to the state convention in June.

Another delegate, Peter Lowrie, says it seems they were trying to bend the rules to favor Ron Paul supporters.

Convention Chairman Joe Poyman says it took a while to iron things out, but with a record turnout like the republicans had, he’s pleased with the outcome.
