Valley economist Elliott Pollack says the death of Osama bin Laden is a psychological plus, but will have no significant effect on our economy, positive or negative.

“People tend to play their pocketbook and the biggest help would be jobs. And jobs have been slow growing.”

While bin Laden’s death will not be a game-changer for the economy, Pollack says any future attacks by al Qaeda on oil pipelines would certainly have a negative impact.
