Australian nurses and midwives who choose to advise parents not to have their child vaccinated now face prosecution for doing so.
The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia stated on their website in a document entitled “Position statement on nurses, midwives and vaccinations:”
The NMBA has become aware that there are a small number of registered nurses, enrolled nurses and midwives who are promoting anti-vaccination statements to patients and the public via social media which contradict the best available scientific evidence. The NMBA is taking this opportunity to make its expectations about providing advice on vaccinations clear to registered nurses, enrolled nurses and midwives.
The NMBA is encouraging the public to report on any nurses or midwives “promoting anti-vaxxer material.”
The World Health Organization claims vaccinations prevent up to three million deaths each year, but numerous professionals and parents have concerns over the questionable ingredients added to corporate vaccines.
It does not say what consequences the nurses who promote anti-vaccination will face, but the NMBA states that they will take matters “very seriously.”
With the recent crackdown on anti-vaccination in California, this kind of persecution could find its way to the United States very soon.
