House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) said Sunday that the interim deal on Iran’s nuclear program might lead to more violence rather than less.
Rogers noted Iran is still classified by the State Department as a state sponsor of terrorism and has played a significant role in the conflict in Syria. He suggested on CNN’s “State of the Union” that the deal might embolden Iran.
“We may — we may have just encouraged more violence in the future than we have stopped,” Rogers said. “That’s why I hope we reconsider where we’re at, certainly in six months.”
