Unlike HealthCare.gov, this website works

People frustrated over price hikes and losing their health plans are being given the opportunity to join a chorus.
The website got up and running at the end of last month, but it’s already having tremendous success serving its purpose, which is more than can be said about the government’s disastrous effort.
People are encouraged to “Take a picture (or scan),” or “Even better: Take a picture with your letter, or hold a sign in your photo” that later gets posted to the site.
One employer posted a letter from insurance provider UnitedHealthcare that says, “We are writing to inform you that your current policy will be discontinued or not renewed at your next renewal at least ninety (90) days from now, on (March 1, 2014) because UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company will no longer offer your current health plan in the State of Colorado.”
In a different photo, another man holds a sign illustrating that his insurance will be raised by $230 extra per month.
Another photo of a letter shows how someone’s Blue Shield monthly premium will be increased from $278.00 a month to $479.09.
And yet another person claims that a letter sent from BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina indicates their insurance premium will be increasing by a whopping 300 percent, proving how for some people the Affordable Care Act is making insurance anything but affordable.
The claims, evidenced by real photos, serve to counter the barrage of lies permeating from the Obama administration in regards to the new federal healthcare law.
“If you like your plan you can keep your plan… period,” Obama stated repeatedly in years past.
However, the president’s false reassurances came into focus as the ACA went into effect last month, to the point that he was forced to issue a quasi-apology. “… I am sorry that they, you know, are finding themselves in this situation, based on assurances they got from me,” the president recently conceded.
But despite his backtracking, more evidence that Obama knew millions would be cut from their plans continues to emerge.
This past weekend, footage surfaced of a 2010 exchange Obama had with Rep. Eric Cantor, which aired on CSPAN, showing the president was fully aware Obamacare would cause at least 8 or 9 million people to lose their health plans.
Additionally, researchers at McClatchy Newspapers uncovered reports last week indicating that the “8 to 9 million” estimate was also a lie. According to their analysis, advisers in 2010 were already warning that millions would lose their health plans, leading McClatchy to conclude that “Combined, as many as 52 million Americans could lose or have lost old insurance plans.”
The monumental failure of Healthcare.gov, the government’s health insurance bottleneck, has also motivated web developers to take a stab at creating health insurance marketplace websites that work.
HealthSherpa.com is the brainchild of a team of three 20-year-old programmers. A testament to the effectiveness of the private sector, HealthSherpa facilitates local pricing with none of the invasive and time consuming information gathering. The site was built in a matter of days and is already said to work better than Healthcare.gov.
As the healthcare law continues to terminate health insurance plans, new notices are constantly being added to MyCancellation.com. If you’d like to add yours send it to: [email protected].
