It was the talk of Cowley County and beyond Monday morning – so what the heck was that UFO-shaped craft being hauled down the road?
It was an experimental military aircraft being toted from coast to coast, according to undersheriff Bill Mueller. Law enforcement in Winfield, Ark City and the sheriffs department, helped escort the craft from the Kay County line to the Butler line this morning.
Mueller said local authorities were asked to keep very quiet about the load being hauled through, so as not to attract too many onlookers.
