Hillary Clinton has amplified her claim that remarks made by Trump about radical Muslims have helped the Islamic State in its recruitment.

Campaigning in Iowa on Tuesday Clinton stood by earlier criticism of Trump and said “people around the world pay close attention to our elections. And if you go on Arabic television, as we have, and you look at what is being blasted out with video of Mr. Trump being translated into Arabic, ‘No Muslims coming into the United States,’ other kinds of derogatory, defamatory statements, it is playing into the hands of the violent jihadists,” she said. “There is nothing they want more than to be able to claim that the United States is against Islam and against Muslims and that then lights an even bigger fire for them to make their propaganda claims through social media and other ways.”

Donald Trump’s commentary on Muslims “has become foreign policy,” Richard Haass, the president of the Council on Foreign Relations, told Morning Joe on Wednesday.

Lost in the rush to condemn Trump and tarnish his campaign is the fact the United States government is primarily responsible for the birth and rise of the Islamic State.

From former DIA chief Lieutenant General Michael Flynn to retired career US diplomat Michael Springmann and dozens of others, we know the United States has pursued policies that not only enabled al-Qaeda and the Islamic State, but has actively supported them.

The Islamic State emerged from a Pentagon psychological operation during the US occupation of Iraq. The largely mythical figure Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, Jama’at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad and eventually al-Qaeda in Iraq built the foundation for what would become the Islamic State of Iraq, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and finally the Islamic State caliphate.

The US sponsored and funded proxy war in Syria and American troops in the Middle East do more to agitate and radicalize Muslims than anything Donald Trump might say.

Actions speak louder than words. The actions of Hillary Clinton as Obama’s Secretary of State in Libya and Syria are directly responsible for the situation that has provided fertile ground for the Islamic State.

CFR scholars Elliott Abrams, Max Boot and a gaggle of liberals, including former Clinton NSC aide Steve Simon, are more responsible for the situation in the Middle East than Trump.

This is never mentioned by the corporate media.
