The unemployment rate for foreign-born workers in the United States increased slightly in June, according to data released Thursday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
BLS counted a total of 24,816,000 foreign-born workers in June, 282,000 fewer than last month’s total. The unemployment rate for the group increased from 4.7 percent to 4.9 percent.
Native-born workers who were employed increased from 124,251,900 to 124,830,000, bringing the overall unemployment rate down slightly from 5.5 to 5.3 percent.
