Democrats are scrambling to figure out how to pull wins in 2018 and beyond to 2020.

One MSNBC contributor thinks a great strategy would be to make impeaching President Trump a top priority in their campaign platforms. In reality, that’s a sure way to come out big losers.

James Peterson was asked by Steve Kornacki, “Is impeachment part of the message for 2018 for Democrats?”

“It absolutely should be,” Peterson responded. “And I’m a little bit more cynical here about the tax cuts. My sense is that the only way that you get Republicans McConnell and Ryan to come together with President Trump is for the donor class.”

Peterson went on to say that the future of the GOP is in jeopardy and that Democrats could capitalize on that perceived weakness if they focused more on impeachment. Nancy Pelosi isn’t comfortable with floating impeachment, Peterson said, but the Democrat base very much is.

“You talk to the folks out there in the streets, the folks claiming #Resistance — impeachment needs to be part of the messaging if the Democratic Party wants to reach out to the people supporting them,” Peterson said.

Yeah, good luck with that.
